Looking for a hands-on experience in state government? PLS is looking for legislative interns for spring 2013. Duties include attending committee meetings and press conferences, writing reports on those events, and carrying out general office duties. Interns will be compensated and we are willing to work to ensure academic credit is received when possible. Hours can range from 20-40 hours/week, depending on the needs of the intern, the schedule of the legislature, and the number of interns hired. The ideal candidate will have an interest in politics and/or the political process, excellent writing skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office and other computer suites. Reporting experience is a plus.
This is a great opportunity to get involved with politics and the legislative process. The start date of the internship mid-January, and the program runs through mid-May.
